These results of our over 2,000 books donation to Shella Primary speak for themselves in 2009 and 2012, speak for themselves: They have just won second place in Lamu’s Education for Marginalized Children in Kenya Reading Competition (EMACK).  This competition is sponsored by the Aga Khan Foundation and by USAID.   Their aim is to promote awareness and improve literacy amongst Kenya’s neediest students.

Shella Primary was the top scoring government school in. The winner of this year’s EMACK award in Lamu was a private primary school called Stonetown.
